Not really if they ship out Franson for a draft pick, that gives them wiggle room. If he ever gets to arbitration, the Leafs will be stuck with his 3.5 plus he will get.

Cap geek shows us with 13.8 million,
More than enough to get gardiner, franson, reimer, holland and ashton under contract.

It's actually better now than I thought it would be.

They have a lot more than 5 mill BTW.

Franny for something, maybe picks..

Leafs have 13 milly left ...not 5 Michael. Enough space to be creative if he wants.

I think the moves indicate that Nonohan is scared - not about money - but about term. Call it the Clarkson-effect.

Where is this 5 mil term coming from? Am I losing it, capgeek shows 13.8 with 16 signed

yeah I don't get the cap space thing. I've seen others stating low space available as well. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

I checked cap geek and they have Toronto's cap space at close to 13 million, not 5

That's interesting that Kontiola is actually leaving money on the table by doing this. Hopefully if he has that much a personal motivation to play in the NHL it will show in his effort.

How exactly are the Leafs in a difficult cap situation?

What could they not accomplish on July 1 that was attributed to their "difficult cap situation" I'll wait for your stupid answer.

I think some are reading their actual salary instead of their cap salary, $63,191,667 vs $55,152,500, big difference there

He's 29. So he can't wait longer. This is his shot.
